OUR TEAM
As co-founder of Magnolia Assisted Living, LLC, Ed brings many years of legal and business operational experience. He has spent the past seven years formulating and executing on the boutique assisted living and memory care, cottage-style business model.
As its President and CEO, Ed successfully oversaw the design, construction, licensing and operations of Windhaven Senior Living in Frisco, Texas.
Ed began his career as a tax attorney and transitioned his skills in 1997 to become a senior financial and operating officer at a privately held group of companies, which included Beal Bank and Beal Aerospace.
In October 2002, Ed formed a small private equity group for the purposes of assembling a management team and acquiring a Texas state savings bank. He served as Chief Executive Officer and sat on the Board of Directors of the bank. The bank was sold in 2009.
Ed earned his undergraduate degree from San Diego State University. He graduated with high honors from Iowa Law School and received his Masters of Taxation Law from New York University School of Law. He went on to clerk for the Honorable Andrew G.T. Moore, III, Justice of the Delaware Supreme Court.

Kris Sedacca

Since 2014, Kris and her husband Ed have designed, constructed and overseen operations at boutique assisted living and memory care communities. They take great pride in creating a family atmosphere.
Kris graduated from Indiana University and spent her corporate career in marketing and product development. Since moving to Dallas, she has been employed by JCPenney and Zales. Prior to venturing into senior living, Kris most recently worked for Children’s Health, where she implemented marketing programs for the hospital, specialty care and primary care locations.
In addition, Kris is certified as an Assisted Living Administrator.
Christa Means
Founder / Operator
Christa has a passion for helping others. She was drawn to the world of residential assisted living after watching her sister and mother, a hospice nurse, take care of multiple family members in their home.
She earned a B.A. in Mathematics from the University of Dallas and attended The Ohio State University for graduate studies in Statistics. Although her education led her to a 17-year career in compliance and risk management at the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas, she also has successfully built, managed, and sold a real estate portfolio. She is now using her lifelong experiences to provide safe, comfortable, luxury homes with the highest level of loving care, to residents and families in need.
Christa resides in DFW with her husband Ryan, and five children.
Samantha Hankerd
Chief Marketing Officer
Serving at the helm of Magnolia Sales and Marketing, is Samantha our Chief Marketing Officer. Samantha has held a lifelong passion for seniors which was ignited through personal family experience in her early adolescence, when her grandfather suffered a stroke. This led to a family business rooted in advocacy for Seniors, which inspired Samantha to jump into the Assisted Living and Memory Care space in her own right. Samantha brings nearly a decade of hands-on experience within the senior healthcare industry.
Samantha has expertise in relationship development, corporate and community level branding and driving creative sales and marketing solutions utilizing cutting edge technology and strategic partnerships.
Samantha considers herself a Texan, but grew up in Arizona and Southern California, where she completed her B.A. in Communications from California State University Long Beach. She lives in North Dallas with her husband and two children.
